Game announcement time! During yesterday’s update, we announced three new games coming very soon for GameTap subscribers. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade is the second expansion pack for Dawn of War - the first, Winter Assault, is included in the already-released Dawn of War Gold Edition. Painkiller: Overdose is a standalone quasi-sequel to FPS Painkiller. And finally, Shattered Union is a turn-based strategy game developed by Tropico creator PopTop Games. I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t found the time to play any of these yet, have you guys? Let us know in the comments.

Game details after the jump.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade is a real-time strategy (RTS) game developed by Company of Heroes and Homeworld creators Relic Entertainment and published by THQ. Dark Crusade is the second expansion pack to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, which itself is based on the popular Warhammer tabletop game. Unlike the previous expansion, Winter Assault, Dark Crusade is a standalone campaign, and is favored by critics, with an 87% review score average on aggregate GameRankings.com.

Shattered Union

Shattered Union is a turn-based strategy game created by Tropico developer PopTop Software and published by Take-Two Interactive. Shattered Union takes place in the year 2014, in the wake of a fraudulent Presidential election. A nuclear terrorist attack leaves Washington, D.C. in ruins, and the already-divided electorate of the United States splits into six warring factions. The European Union, wishing to forcibly reunite the states, invades the east coast. The union is in pieces, and only force can put it back together again.

Painkiller: Overdose

Painkiller: Overdose is the continuation and quasi-sequel to JoWood’s first-person shooter (FPS) Painkiller. The arcade style mayhem continues unabated, with 16 brand new levels, 8 new weapons and gigantic end bosses. Painkiller: Overdose also introduces a reshuffled Tarot deck, with new powers and combinations to explore, and new exotic Earthly locales.

I might check out Painkiller: Overdose. Got kinda bored of the first one around the third chapter, when it was just generic FPS enemies in generic FPS environments. Nothing was better than fighting ninjas in an opera house and staking one to the wall through his butt, though.

I’ve become an enormous fan of Painkiller and am extremely happy to get this expansion. Any chance of Escape from Hell, too? :)

I’ve looking forwards to all three of these, especially Dark Crusade. PK: Overdose looks interesting as well.

Aricene: I took this straight from the developer’s website, I’m sure they had some debug stuff going on.
