Not a huge deal. The Premium yearly plan is still a steal. I’m glad for the half-priced classic pack, that should satisfy the people who only sign up for those, and then complain that GT is adding so many more new windows games.
Not bad, and I like that they are throwing a bone to the 64-bit users. It won’t make them happy, but still, it’s better than nothing.
Not as bad as I thought. I expected $120 a year or more. Never happy with an increase, but you have to make money to stay alive.
So, looking at Classic…is the 64 bit going to be for everything as well? Cuz that would be a big draw back for me.
@BannSidhe, everything in every pack is 64-Bit compatible except Windows games.
The classic pack isn’t a bone… those games work on 64 bit OS with the CURRENT player…. and at $50 the “Classic Pack” is not something I… or probably much of anybody… will buy.
Seeing all this work on a new Browser based player when 64 bit doesn’t work is a slap in the face. If you can’t get your third party tech provider to sort it out… hire someone who can.
i dont know but if there having money issues…. man i wish they would just say so i mean thats only reason “i think” they have to up the ante.. but i hope the get better games like world in conflict, crisis or red alert series i you know a more grade A type games i mean im hoping
Gametap: less games, no client, less user friendly, less secure, AND cost more. Winning business plan there.
Having only the “Classic” pack available to 64-bit users doesn’t do it for me. I want my Windows games, too. I originally subscribed to the Gold service for a reason. And I especially don’t like the “hurry up and resubscribe” bit by 3/15/09 to “lock in” my current price. I wasn’t due to re-up until June. What a disappointment.
@Lady_Kat:
The “hurry up” bit is only if you aren’t already subscribed to the $59.95/annual. If you’re already on that plan and set to re-up in June, then don’t worry about it. You’ll automatically be billed at your current $59.95 price then.
I’d be happier with an earlier notice though. 9 days is really hard to get things together for. Not everyone is paid weekly.
Hmm, I don’t like the once a year thing, I mean what if at this time next year I don’t have $59.95????? i think i will stick with my 9.95 paypals every month, maybe
Hopefully these higher costs and new tech will soon allow for 64-bit support for everything. Dual booting is a pain.
Amy, just put that 9.95/month aside for 6 months and you’ve got your yearly fee taken care of.
will the windows games be 64-bit compatible OS??
Not yet.
i bet this guys forgot about lag in fighting games. you guys spend a lot of money. but all you need to do is fix the damm laggg
Well, that classic pack is good news. Whenever I subscribed to GT, the only thing I was playing was the classic games as it is and hardly any Windows games…//
Still not seeing a wonderfull deal and I am still waiting on some more updated games like some Playstation and PS2 games or even Super Nintendo games to come out on your site before I am to come back and join again!!! JUST NOT SEEING THE GAMES I WANT
