Titan Quest
Rise of Nations

Popular games waiting for 64bit! Please test them for win7 it is out today. Vista is no more………windows7 will replace it and works better.

Windows 7 works fine already. I’ve been running the RTM version from MSDNAA.

Happy birthday Gametap - a great way to celebrate, I’d say the metaphor but… yeah.

Oh, and Xtreeme, you’d be surprised how little people are willing to change. I don’t see Vista going anywhere for a while, despite pros and cons of it and other systems.

What a shame. 4 years old, and already completely in the toilet. The web based player drove me away. Too bad, I loved the original service, now I won’t let the buggy, ugly, slow, crash-prone piece of trash even install on my system anymore. Death to the Metaboli web player! Long live the GameTap Client!

Funny, because the only legitimate problem I’ve had with the web player is something I can with 99% certainty attribute to my crappy video card acting up. Other than that, it’s been smooth sailing almost all the way around. When I look at all of the complaints in the forums, I can’t help but wonder how many of them are due to people who just flat-out can’t manage their systems competently.

Anyway, happy birthday, GameTap, and thanks for the countless hours of free time you’ve sucked up! While the 64-bit issue doesn’t affect me, I’m glad to see it getting addressed, and it’ll be great to finally be able to use mod content.

(Now re-encode FreeSpace 2 next. :P)

Its been a rough year for GameTap, but things seem to be turning for the better. Support has been helpful, I’m warming up to the web client, the AAA selection increasing, Save states, and 64-bi supportt. Year 4 just might be a good year for GT …might.

I like the web player myself also. all my problems were Vista related. UAC etc… Launch day had some hiccups, but that was expected.

At this 4 year anniversary I wonder, how many paying subscribers do you have now as opposed to 365 days ago?

» Emperor_Caligula said: Oct 28, 2009

Ignore me all you want. Its the ghost of Christmas past. Thought you would get away forever with screwing over the public? Think again. Either fix things or admit they are broke. Either option will make me go away.

One Unpleasant Truth is worth one thousand heartfelt lies.

I do still prefer the external client, but I am not having any problems with the web browser, and I am pleased with the selection of games. Keep working on the 64-bit and I will probably renew my subscription. I don’t know what else there would be to complain about. Oh, but yes, I really do still prefer the external client.

I’m just wondering. Will we ever see the Mortal Kombat games on Gametap??? I’d like to play MKII on here. The in-browser player is getting better, but I still prefer the external player we had before. Also, when will 2 player capability be re-enabled on the Street Fighter 2 games??? Will we ever see the original The Incredible Machine again???
