Myst

Starting today the Myst series will be taking a hiatus from GameTap due to an external conflict between Cyan Worlds and Ubisoft. Ideally we like to give you, the user, plenty of advance notice when a game is leaving the service but this news was just as much a surprise to us. When the issue is settled between these parties we will do everything we can to get these games back on the service.

Update: realMYST is still available

Wow, first all the Bioware/Black Isle games, now Cyan. I know it isn’t your fault (and I either owned or already played them all), but this sucks. Lets hope this gets settled soon!

Why is realMyst gone? I wasn’t aware that Ubisoft had any connection to that game.

Sucks that there’s drama between Ubi and Cyan all of a sudden. Cyan has enough problems already.

Gametap wont be as popular as other sites beccuse they have all the good games in the premeum, they should ahave a few preameum games free to get more people on the site.

Ubisoft likely wants to renegotiate the license for publishing the Myst franchise.

Maybe it’s reading too much into it, but I really hope this means there’s a new Myst in the pipeline and they’re haggling over the publishing rights. Or something.
