just out of curiousity, does your game store do a lot of business? even considering almost everything there is at least twice as much as you could get it anywhere else?
The prices aren’t that bad. The selection’s a bit poor, though.
I got Unreal Anthology at a GameStop for $10 new last year, the prices are pretty bad.
@Radio, no they aren’t compare the prices of any of these 9 games to our competitors, Steam, D2D, GoG, GamersGate. Are any of these double the price?
I just checked to be sure, every game here that’s on Steam is a nickel cheaper here. Unreal Anthology is 1/4 the price of the same games on GoG.
And Steam only lets you either get Unreal Deal Pack (which is the anthology + UT3 which is $20 on its own) for $40, or all the games individually for uh…more than $20. So I dunno about Gamestop.
i bought universe at war two months ago for $5 (retail, not DD). you can get the WHOLE spellforce universe (1+expansions, 2+expansions) for 30 bucks from gamersgate and less than that at retail, or spellforce 2 gold (2+expansions) for $20 from gamersgate. bought flatout 2 from best buy for $5 around january. jewelcraft is $7 from amazon DD. unreal anothology is $10 from… well, damn near anywhere. newegg, buy.com, amazon. el matador is market price. sherlock is market price. runaway is market price.
70% or more of the games available in the gametap shop are HORRIBLY overpriced.
You’re comparing digital download prices to retail prices, it doesn’t really translate that way. Physical retailers are free to determine their own pricing, digital retail pricing is controlled by publishers. You’re also comparing sale prices to standard pricing.
I’m not saying we’re the cheapest around but to suggest that our prices are double the standard is ludicrous.
This of course is the inherent problems with DD for a lot of things I suppose. Publishers set the prices, often too high, so there is little/no incentive to not just wait for the physical game to go on sale.
